Sometimes life is just hard. There are days when you want to understand your emotions, behaviors, and relationships better but yoSometimes life is just hard. There are days when you want to understand your emotions, behaviors, and relationships better but you don’t have the time or place for it. You may share your concerns with your loved ones and feel you are not being fully heard. My goal isn’t just to hear you but to truly listen. Therapy is not solely a place where you can find answers to your questions but a place where you can feel open to be who you truly are. I promise to provide a safe space that embodies deep connections, understanding, and enlightenment. My passion for being a therapist didn’t truly grow until I cared for and lost a child. I learned that the most important tool in life is the support of others. It is by and through others that we can gain new perspectives, find comfort, and fulfill goals. I hope to help you find the peace you are searching for by being a a part of your support team. Some hobbies of mine include camping and hiking with my husband and dogs. I love exploring new places! I also enjoy a good laugh and a sweet treat while playing card games with friends and family.u don’t Sometimes life is just hard. As a Marriage and Family Therapist, I work with teens, individuals, couples, and families experiencing a variety of concerns. My approach to therapy is collaborative and tailored to your unique needs. Together, we may explore past experiences that influence current challenges, practice coping skills, and create meaningful goals. I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and the Gottman Method.

I hold a graduate degree in MFT from National University with a specialization in couples therapy. My clinical approach is integrative, client-centered, and evidence-based, utilizing CBT, IFS, SFBT, Narrative, Gottman, and EFT. I have experience working with diverse populations, including:

  • Couples and families: High-conflict, infidelity, and divorce

  • Individuals: Teens and adults dealing with anxiety, depression, suicidality, ADHD, Autism, OCD, and trauma

  • Grief and loss: This is a core area of my clinical passion. Having personally navigated the loss of my son to a rare genetic disease, I have a deep commitment to supporting others through grief.

Shauna's Role

Shauna Chriss, FNP-C, plays a vital role in bridging traditional and holistic care, bringing integrative medicine into the mental health space. By addressing the mind-body connection, our FNP enhances healing through:

  • Comprehensive Health Assessments – Identifying underlying medical factors affecting mental well-being, including hormone imbalances, thyroid health, and nutritional deficiencies.

  • Psychotropic Medication Management – Thoughtful, evidence-based prescribing to support mental health alongside therapy and holistic interventions.

  • Hormone & Metabolic Health Optimization – Restoring balance for better mood, cognition, and overall vitality.

  • Personalized Nutritional Support – Integrating supplementation and lifestyle medicine to promote long-term wellness.

By combining functional medicine with mental health care, our FNP allows us to treat the whole person, leading to deeper, more lasting healing for our clients.
